Lamps & Bulbs
High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting produces as much as 5-6 times as much light compared to incandescent lights of the same wattage and last up to 30 times as long.
Metal Halide (MH) lights produce a strong output of the blue spectrum, which will promote strong vegetative growth. If you are growing primarily leafy plants such as lettuce and herbs, then a MH light is ideal.
High Pressure Sodium lights produce a strong output of the orange-red spectrum, which will help promote fruiting and flowering in plants. If your planning on growing plants that will eventually flower, or produce fruit, than a HPS lamp is an ideal choice.
Fluorescent lights are perfect for starting seeds, or clones before planting in the garden. They are also a good choice for giving your houseplants a boost during the short winter months.
